Not much snow left around here!
I took this last Saturday when we went outside to play; there’s even less now!
I wasn’t going to get my camera out that time, but…
…the guys started filling up this tub…
…and making snowcastles!
And doesn’t this deserve a picture?
Here’s a couple pictures of them working on it:

Earlier that day we dropped Dad and Spencer off at the new building our church is renovating (to help take out the old sprinkler-system), and then the rest of us went to the zoo.
We saw an IMax and then went to the Aquarium… we went there on my birthday one year, and I spent two hours in there happy as a cricket. ย Me and fish! ๐
Thank you for reading all this and looking at ALL these pictures! ย Do you guys like it best when there’s more text or pictures in my posts?
Happy Saturday, and happy Valentine’s Day!
P.S. ย Do you any of you have a favorite animal/animals to see at the zoo?
P.P.S. ย My computer saysย snowcastlesย (^see above ^) isn’t a word. ย In myย humble okay not-so-humble opinion, if sandcastles is a word, snowcastles is to. ย And in case you were wondering: I’ve been making up words for a long time… I used to make them up to put in poetry because I needed a word that rhymed. ย I refrain from doing that now, so that others will understand my poems–which is the point. ๐
Beautiful pictures Hanna! I loved them. You are quite the photographer and a wonderful storyteller too and that is a terrific combination! Happy Valentine’s Day!
Sounds like/looks like a very fun day for your family, with lots of learning bonus. Thanks for sharing..
Oh, and I like your pictures, but love your commentary to go with them when possible.
Thanks for sharing.
Whoa, love the snowcastles! We tried to build snowcastles in the backyard … but it didn’t work :-). It was fun to try though! We ended up taking the snow-blocks that we were going to use for the castles and throwing them at the tree :-). Oddly enough … it was really fun :-). And I also think snowcastle should be a word. I mean, really, how different is it from sandcastle?
I love the zoo! I like the way they re-did the aquarium a lot. Do you have a favorite critter in the aquarium? My fav is probably the penguins :-). My favorite part of the aquarium is probably the tunnel though … or the penguins :-). ~Savannah
The only way snowcastles differ from sandcastles is that the latter are made more often, Savannah. That’s my theory. ๐
I don’t think I have a favorite animal in the aquarium… I like the penguins and the jellyfish… and everything else! ๐
Fun pictures!! Lots of fun! Keep making up words, girl! Maybe you’ll get close to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious! ๐
I doubt I’ll ever get close to that, Ellen! It’s special.
By the way, did you make up the spelling, or find it spelled out somewhere? Did your computer underline it in red? ๐
Hi Hanna,
Actually, I figured out the spelling. *One night at my grandma’s we were talking and someone asked how do you spell Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious? I was like, “Well, let’s find out!” So I wrote it out twice on a piece of paper. The first one was with the expiali part with an ‘e’ instead of an ‘i’, and the second spelling was with the ‘i’. My Aunt looked it up then and it was right!*
It didn’t underline it red!!!! (Woot Woot) EVERYTHING I spell seems to be underlined in red. (grrrr) ESPECIALLY CC stuff!!!! I guess I just have a unique way of spelling. the correct spelling is s-u-p-e-r-c-a-l-i-f-a-g-i-l-i-s-t-i-c-e-x-p-i-a-l-i-d-o-c-i-o-u-s. Lots of i’s. Anyway, that’s the scoop on that. ๐
Thanks! ๐
The pictures make one feel like they are standing right beside you looking in. But your words give it life-expression and feeling. And I agree snowcastles is a word! What do they know!
Looks like you had a lot of fun! We tried to make snowcastles too, but they didn’t work out. At all. And I would say snowcastles is TOTALLY a word! ๐ ~Sky
