Stopping In

Hey, guys!  Just wanted to stop in and say that I am thisclose to finishing The Sacrifice, and if I’m a little sparse around here for a while, it’s because I’m writing and editing as much as I can!

I’m really excited about how it’s going, and I’m hoping to get it up here soon!  I think I can realistically say I could start posting it before March, but I also thought I could start posting it at the new year, so. . .  Just goes to show that stories aren’t quite as tame as some people think.  I’ll do my best.

What about my dog?” he added, noticing Cyrus hesitating between his master and the horse he had followed all day.  “You can take him in with you, if you want.” The boy shrugged despondently. “They don’t mind.”  Sir Richard whistled to Cyrus and walked inside, wondering why everyone here was so downcast.

And so they stood on the walls of the City of Gondor, and a great wind rose and blew, and their hair, raven and golden, streamed out mingling in the air. (941)

The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien

This paints such a pretty picture, doesn’t it?

It’s Saturday

Sorry about my long absence around here, dear friends.  We just got back to school from Christmas break this week, so I have been a bit busy!  Most of my spare hours have been spent trying to memorize songs on the piano or desperately working on The Sacrifice.

It’s been going. . . slow.  I don’t really like the second half that much, but the first half is turning out lovely, if I do say so myself.  And there happen to be a hundred little details that I can’t quite decide if I like, or if they belong in the City or the Valley (or my surrounding mountain-range) at all.  Also, I’m just sure that there’s a perfect ending for it waiting just around some corner for me to find and write, but I have yet to figure out which corner that happens to be.  If you run into any happy endings, they may belong to me, so if you wouldn’t mind letting me know. . .

Anyway, I’m working on it, and doing my best to get it out “in front of your eyeballs” as soon as possible! 🙂

It’s good to be back, and I’ll try to come around again before another whole week!

Happy Saturday!

Blessings and Stories: Eternity

It’s been a while since I did one of these posts, so I decided to today when I couldn’t think of anything to post.  And I found quite a few things I had forgotten about writing while I was flipping through my “Blessings and Stories” notebook, so there may be some more posts like this in the future!

For a long time I have believed that I will go to heaven when I die.

(Once when I was little, I decided that heaven didn’t exist, and you just sat in the dark after you died.  I’m not sure if I would have come to that conclusion if I had really thought about it, but I didn’t think too hard.)

Anyway, for a long time I have believed that I will go to heaven when I die.

But just recently it really occurred to me: heaven is something that is real, and it’s going to happen to me.

I once had a friend ask me, “Do you get dizzy when you think about forever?”  I had never gotten dizzy when I thought about forever, and I thought it was kind-of a weird question.

But at that moment, as I began to think about what heaven really meant–of seeing Christ’s face, and of spending eternity with the One who died for me–I was dizzy!

I think of taking my last breath, and knowing that everlasting joy, peace, hope, and comfort lay ahead!

And I think of Jesus, hanging on the cross, taking His last breath, and knowing that IT WAS FINISHED.  And I thought that I had had a sense of accomplishment before!

The most wonderful of mothers had a birthday yesterday!

I never have time to post on birthdays, because we’re so busy! *sigh*  Ah well, here we are now:

Happy birthday, Mama!  You’re the best!  Thank you for being the very sweetest mama ever, and always supporting all my crazy ideas!  I love you!
