Dad ordered a hamburger one night in China that had egg and cheese and probably something else on it, and he let me taste it. It was the best hamburger I’d ever eaten. . .
. . . until Sunday night, when we had this for dinner.
Dad felt like a burger, but we didn’t have hamburger buns, so he fried bread and butter on the electric skillet instead. And then we added egg, and cheese, and bacon, and fried onion–just for kicks. This is a good house to live in! 🙂
And we also had a super moon, a blood moon, and a lunar eclipse on Sunday night–if I got all those names right. 🙂 We went out several times and took pictures. Mine didn’t turn out very well, but Dad some really neat ones with the big camera. For example:
This is one Dad got after it started turning orange (the blood moon aspect):
It was super cool! And, while we were standing around looking at the moon, I saw a possum a few houses down!
And the last several mornings we’ve had a squirrel in the tree right outside our kitchen window!
Anyway, you guys are probably all wondering if I’m actually doing a “Mystery Quote”. Yes, I am, and here it is:
Last week’s quote was from The Bronze Bow by Elizabeth George Speare, Chapter 16. The [her] is Leah, the [she] is Thacia, and the [he] is Daniel.
Savannah and Katie correctly guessed the title, and Ellen guessed. . . everything. 🙂 And now for this week:
“Since I leave now all gold and silver, and go where it is of little worth, I wish to part in friendship with you, and I would take back my words and deeds at the Gate.”
Happy guessing!
Wow!!! So cool!!!!
Hannah got some pictures but we went to bed before the actual Blood Moon, I think……….
A POSSUM!??!?!?!??!?!? Like, an actual POSSUM!??!?!?!?!?!?!? FREAKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gross!! #IDontLikePossums
Okay……I have a feeling it’s from the Bible, but I also have a feeling that it’s from something totally different………….I’ll keep thinking.
Maybe Pilgrim’s Progress? I’m not sure, and I’m wondering if it is something from the Lord of the Rings or The Hobbit. (I don’t know anything about those, so I’m guessing Pilgrims progress. )
The Hobbit. It’s from the part where Thorin is dying.
The Hobbit. The Hobbit. The Hobbit.
Ann of Green Gables
Anne spelled with an ‘E’…………;-)
The Hobbit. When Thorin is dying. I creod my eyes out at this part!
The Hobbit. By J.R.R Tolkien, chapter 18 page 301. Thorin is speaking to Biblibo. I cried my eyes out at this part during the movie, and was upset during the book.
Yes, that part of the movie was SO sad! 🙁 ~Savannah
Tolkien killed all my favorite dwarves! ?
Well, hey!! Thorin kinda needed to die because then if he didn’t, he would have probably killed Bilbo to get the stone!!
Still sad though! 🙁 🙁 🙁
I don’t really have any idea what you two are talking about, considering the fact that I have never watched, or read, The Hobbit. But something tells me that you both really like this… Thorin. 🙂 ~Sky
By the way Macaiah, who is this Biblibo you speak of? 🙂 ~Sky
Bilbo Baggins of the Shire, of course! ?
Yes, I know of Bilbo, but who is Biblibo? 🙂 Just kidding, I know what you mean! 🙂 Oh, and by the way, how did you make that happy face? ~Sky
And how did you do that crying face? ~Sky
I’m using an ipad. I ❤️ emoticons.
Oh phooey. ~Sky
I just posted my answer twice, didn’t I?
Well, yes, but that’s fine. I don’t think anyone around here minds you talking about “The Lord of the Rings” a little extra. 😉
Yay!
Spelling corrections: cried, Bilbo.
The Hobbit! Huh, I actually have a good guess of where it came from this time 🙂 . ~Savannah
Okay, I’m gonna guess……..
THE HOBBIT!!!!!!! 😉
Um…. I’m just guessing that it’s The Hobbit, just because everyone else did, does that count? ~Sky
Wait a sec, Ellen and Sky! I don’t really think you get credit if you copy someone else. Didn’t I say that???
In reality, I’ll probably include you. I’m too tenderhearted to leave people out. . .
Aww………
Hear that, Sky?? Hanna is going to let us slip for this one! How sweet!! #WarmAndFuzzyMoment She’s too tenderhearted……….
Aw…. that’s sweet… Hanna’s gonna let us cheat….. That’s my Hanna! Always the tenderhearted one…. 🙂 ,<3~Sky
You guys. . . 🙂
HOBBIT. ( I haven’t read it though, but it seems to me that people can cheat on this one, so…… 🙂 ) – Jaidyn
Well, I had thought it possibly was The Hobbit, but didn’t finalize my answer until I saw the other answers. So I guess you’re good there, Jaidyn 🙂 . ~Savannah
Okay, good. *Sigh* I’m relieved! 😀
